About Magic Prepper

Magic Prepper's goal is to spread awareness about the importance of individual preparedness. Primarily through YouTube video content and social networking. Every single person that we can get prepared is one less potential issue during a crisis situation. Although a large majority of the focus is placed on SHTF scenarios, practical preparedness is still an important part of the message.

Originally from Florida, I spent 10 years in California before relocating to North Dakota. Exposure to completely different environments and societal norms has helped me develop the skills to adapt to my surroundings. Whether that be in a rural or urban setting. As a child, I spent many years with the Boy Scouts of America where I was first introduced to wilderness survival, bushcraft and firearms. The self sufficiency aspect of the scouts along with the mantra of "be prepared" had a major impact on me throughout my life.

Growing up in Florida, emergency preparedness was an annual event thanks to hurricane season. The idea of having extra food, water, batteries and equipment was just a part of living in that climate. I was surprised to find that folks in other parts of the United States of America rarely prepared in a similar fashion. And now I am sharing that concept with people on a regular basis!

I have never served in the military and I do not have any law enforcement experience. I am just a regular guy who understands the importance of prepping for emergencies that we will have no control over.  Why the name "Magic Prepper" you ask? Well, there are a couple of reasons:

1. While in Cub Scouts, a new game was introduced known as "Magic: The Gathering". I started playing with fellow scouts and friends in 1994 and have been playing ever since. I find that it helps keep my mind sharp regarding math, strategy and political schemes while providing a competitive outlet.
2. The definition of "Magic" is:  the power of apparently influencing the course of events by using mysterious or supernatural forces.
   If you ask me, that sounds a lot like bushcraft and survival.
3. Although I do live near "Magic City" (Minot, ND), I did not when the channel was started. But hey, I still think it lines up nicely.

Thank you for all of the support I have received over the years. It is extremely humbling and you have no idea how much I appreciate it. I will do my best to continue my goal of spreading awareness about the necessity of prepping.
